Mind the gap.

25 April 2004

I've delayed updating because I don't feel like writing. :-

So Foreign Language Honour Society / National Honour Society Night was on Thursday. I was lucky enough to recieve two book awards, one from my school for standardized test scores and a humanities one from University of Rochester. Very cool.

'Skipped' school on Friday since it was only a half-day (including a 2-period assembly) because of prom... obviously did not go to prom... went to Jess's belated birthday party/anti-prom party instead.

We were lucky enough to be staying at the hotel [in a very large suite] on the night of a special convention for... famous drag queens! We encountered quite a few of them, as well as the 'Imperial Court of RI', an orderly group of gay men who were very chivalric. It was quite a lovely experience.

Heh.

Besides the small and somewhat uncomfortable encounter with the principal (he did not seem to believe that we were at the same hotel the prom was at for an entirely different reason... the prom *happened* to be at the same hotel that Jess has managerial connections with...), it was fun.

I guess we're all committed to going to senior prom next year, however.

That should be interesting.

When I got home from the hotel late Saturday morning, I was veeery tired and promptly fell asleep on the couch for 4+ hours, during which I kept having the oddest dreams... I was in charge of a sort of daycare for disfigured animals (there were adorable little green treefrogs) and then a daycare for children with strange deformities. It was SO vivid... I can still picture this little girl at the school; she had the brightest blue eyes that just stared at me... the whole dream was uncomfortable and very depressing, especially when the parents came to pick up their children and were getting very nasty with me, criticising the daycare/school and saying it was dirty and unsuitable and such (it was my house)... it was just so strange and upsetting.

Weird weird weird.

School tomorrow.
