Mind the gap.

31 December 1969

My [incredibly LOSERish] team was about to start a game of basketball, to the tune of BS's 'Toxic' that some nameless eejit had started playing on the other side of the gym, when the lights suddenly went out and our windowless gymnasium was plunged into VERY dark darkness... there were screams, and I heard quite a few shouts, but I started laughing insanely as the lights pathetically flickered a few times then went off... a few moments later they went on again, but very dimly... it was quite humorous.

But what I found even more funny was when Mrs. Leonard, my gym teacher, sent us all into the locker rooms to change since, as she put it, 'These kids are throwing around basketballs in the dark!' Ooo... danger, Will Robinson! *shrug*

So, with twenty minutes left in our last-period gym class, we went to the locker room to get changed. As I was changing I heard Sarah mention something about '...if I had a hedgehog, I'd put (I don't remember what she said here) on its quills!' I overheard that, laughed, and said, "My hedgehog sometimes gets poop stuck on his quills..." >_<

Then out of nowhere Sarah said, "Oh, the hedgehog you didn't tell me about?! I was REALLY upset about that." I was quite confused at that, because I mean I didn't go into school on Monday shouting "HEY I GOT TWO HEDGIES!" I'd only mentioned it to Steph in conversation at lunch the other day, and I guess when she told Sarah, Sarah got upset or something. So then Sarah said, "Well, that's what I would've done!" regarding the shouting bit. She continued, "You told me that your dad had connections with somebody that could get hedgehogs and when you talked to her you'd give me the information!" So I explained, "My dad randomly stopped into a petshop and surprised me with it; we didn't even talk to that person!" But she kept saying "Oh, I was very upset about it."

By the time gym was over, I'd begun wondering what the heck that was all about since it seemed so pointless to me. When I mentioned it to Justine at the locker she told me that Sarah had come to her yesterday and was saying how mad she was at me for getting the hedgies and not giving her info (by the way, when my dad first gave me Sir Cadogan, he said "Don't you have a friend who wants one?" and I said, "Yeah, but she's camping/at a church event this weekend."), and then Sarah told Justine she was going to ignore me because she was upset.

?!?!?!?!

This behaviour, it boggles the mind... I mean, I'm baffled that somebody as intelligent as Sarah can act so childishly... giving me the silent treatment because I didn't tell her I got my hedgies?! It wasn't intentional; I just don't make a big deal of things like that.

Argh... supposedly, as J told me, Sarah said it was her idea first, but I think Justine might've missed something along the way because I doubt Sarah would've said that... I started talking about hedgies a few weeks ago, and then after a few days Sarah asked if I'd mind if she got one and I said 'Of course not!', because why the heck would I care?! It's completely bogus if she really thinks I didn't give her the 'info' (which I didn't have in the first place) because I didn't want her to get one.

Ai Valar...

Anyway. I came home from school and made peanut butter cookies, so that's good. ^_^

My maths test was postponed until tomorrow even though I was all ready for it today, thanks to visiting Mrs. Lytle after school yesterday for extra help as well as being allowed to use a notecard for all the formulas.

But I got accepted into the National Honour Society, so that's one piece of good news. ^_^
