Mind the gap.

22 February 2004

This is just another of my silly dream-recording entries (in lieu of typing them out in my Word document which is not on this computer), so feel free to pass it by. ^_^

Actually, I feel guilty... I'm skipping church... I only woke up like, 10 minutes before we were going to leave, and my throat hurts, and I just didn't feel like rushing and getting dressed and freshened up. >_>

Anyway. My dream.

Justine and I were walking through the halls of our school, except it was a different version of our school, and we walked past two girls, Shannon Ledo (somebody who used to go to my school who was one of those bully-ish types, but the girl in my dream didn't look anything like her) and a friend. By accident, I think I kicked Shannon or kicked something into her, but we walked quickly away. Then her friend came up to us a few minutes later and said "Shannon's really mad that one of you kicked her, and she's gonna come talk to you, so you better just say it was an accident or something." I said, "Well, it WAS an accident!" But then Shannon walked over to us and said something like, "Okay, which one of you did that?!" J and I started apologizing, and I said "I did, but it was an accident, honestly!" I finally convinced her, and then we kind of got to talking, and Shannon said "You two go in that classroom right there... I have a proposition." So J and I went in and sat at a round table. The classroom was a typical elementary school room, with maybe four or five rows of desks. The teacher was standing in the middle of the class, but I forgot what she was discussing. Even though this was supposedly our high school, it was probably a first or second grade class.

Shannon and the friend came in, sat down, and smiled at us.

"You may or may not know that the America (something I forgot) Company has recently moved its headquarters here to Las Angeles (so apparently we lived in LA o_O), and this is where they film Saturday Night Live." I nodded because I knew this already, and I also knew that Shannon and her friend were going to host it, along with Christina Aguilera, on Friday (yes... Friday...). Shannon went on, "Well, I think that if you want, you two could host the show with us!"

So instantly, images of myself in tons of funny skits, becoming famous, ran through my mind. Shannon kept saying how it would be so much fun and everything. So J and I agreed, and then I pulled out of an envelope this picture of us hosting SNL that I'd Photoshopped (I'd done it before Shannon even asked us because I'd overheard her talking about it to the friend). Shannon smiled brightly and started saying. "Great! But there are a few favours I want you guys to do for me... see, I have these three really heavy boxes that need to be lifted for the show, but my back really hurts so I though you guys could do it."

At that I jumped up out of my chair and glared at her.

"I KNOW what you're doing!" I yelled. "I'm not stupid, you know! You're going to make us do all your dirty work and then you'll ditch us and won't let us host!" Shannon's grin faded. She and the friend got up and stalked out of the room. I ran into the hall after them. "Shannon... it was nice, while it lasted." I said. She turned around, looking angry. "Really." I said. She gave me a half-smile and walked off.

Back in the classroom, J found a five dollar bill Shannon had given to her and put it in the envelope with the Photoshopped picture. "Well, this will feed my family one day." She said very sadly.

I decided that I wanted to delete the picture from my computer, and suddenly the classroom in front of me had the actual files and folders from my computer on the floor, except they were very digital looking, so I threw away the two that I didn't need.

Then J and I walked out of the room amid the teacher's talking about what had just happened and to the front door of the school, which now looked like my elementary school.

My dad was there wearing a weird hat, and my little sister appeared and run up to him and gave him a hug. Although I'd driven to school, for some reason my dad drove us home.

In the van on the way back, Kim suddenly appeared in a seat. "Why couldn't I drive my car?" I asked. He glared at me. "It has a sticky gum coating all over it!" "A what?!" "A sticky gumlike covering. You KNEW it was supposed to snow two days ago. You should'nt have driven at all today!' "But Dad, J and I were at a field trip all day long! I wasn't near my car! And what gummy covering are you talking about? J, have you ever heard of that?"

"Yeah, but I've never seen it..." she said. "Kim, have you?" "No."

The rest of the dream involved my dad and I arguing about the sticky gummy coating on my car.

Indeed.
