Mind the gap.

01 July 2004

Well, I've returned from my travels.

Overall, the trip was really quite fantastic. Sarah and I especially fell in love with London, and plans are already underway to move there for a few months one summer. Trafalgar Square, the Tower of London, St. Paul's cathedral, the London Eye, Picadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Windsor Palace, the British Museum, Churchill's War Rooms... the UNDERGROUND... the list goes on and on. Brilliant city.

London is also amazing because that's where Ed, Sarah, Nicole, and I met the one and only TIM BURTON.

!!!!

He talked to us about what we were doing in London, asked us our names, and shook our hands. We would've gotten pictures/autographs from him if we hadn't been in St. Paul's cathedral at the time... heh. That would have been somewhat inappropriate. But he was a really friendly, nice person and it was a great unexpected experience.

Also whilst in England, we did Stonehenge, the Roman Baths, and a wee bit of Canterbury as well. I'd love to spend more time in the countryside next time, however.

I did enjoy Paris, although the week there went by so much faster than the time in London. It's quite nice there, although I'm sorry to say that their subway system is not very friendly and it smells. :-(

Lots of crap happened during the trip, of course, but I was really glad to get a chance to spend time with people I otherwise don't see too much. Hopefully we'll all keep in touch.

I just want to write a huge list of all the inside jokes that developed while we were on the trip so I can insert them into random pages of the scrapbook I'll be making... heheh.

I did send postcards to quite a few of you, but Lord only knows when they'll arrive!

Yep. I should have my pictures on Saturday, so I'll scan a few when I can to show bits of what we did. I didn't get them on CD because their stupid CD's don't work on Macs... bleh.

Anyway, it's good to be back. :-)
