Mind the gap.

28 March 2004

Ah, what a day... the inspector lady came around 1, although the 'inspection' itself was naught more than her peering into every room. >_> And I cleaned it for that?! Ah well, I REALLY needed to clean so I guess it's all good. Now she just has to check our 'references' (Amy Harnedy and my LN grandma), and then we'll get to pick our student by reading their letters of introduction. Squee!

In other news, we went and got another hedgie today because Nin was pushing my dad into doing it and now he's all gung-ho on breeding the two and selling the babies (a very lucrative trade, I might add), so now we have a brown-ish female as well. She's very skittish though, despite what the petstore guy said on the phone... her name is Lady Tarian Malvina Ericius Baggins. ^_^

'Tarian' is Welsh for 'shield', which I find very fitting since she uses her quills as a shield to defend herself when she curls up into a ball. 'Malvina' is Irish for 'sweet', which is what the petshop guy first described her as... and 'Ericius' is Latin for 'hedgehog'.

So now, Sir Cadogan (so named for his wild and fruitless thrashing about with his 'sword', AKA paper towel tube) and Lady Tarian are a happy couple... except for the fact that Lady T has a bloodied foot since she caught it on the edge of the cage. She's leaving bloody footprints everywhere and although she seems to be okay otherwise, Ian and Nin are freaking out because of the blood... they don't realise that lots of blood doesn't necessarily mean a deadly injury. :-

Anyway.

Back to school tomorrow... eye doctor appointment, so no daycare... umm, yeah.

Ta for now.
